Description |
MyPC2Repair offers over 35,000 computer products for repair, service, upgrading, and retail sales. We provide one of the industry's most compelling and customer-oriented repair and shopping environment. In this position, you will have the opportunity to perform on-site service and repair of major OEM laptops, desktops, and printers. Provide technical support in activities associated with the identification, prioritization and resolution of reported problems. Activities include recognition, research, isolation, resolution, and follow-up. Perform general maintenance, troubleshoots, and repairs major OEM laptops, desktops, and printers. This position requires Laptop / Desktop Break-Fix Experience, Printer Break-Fix Experience, and Desk side Support Experience. Must be CompTIA A+ Certified and have reliable transportation. Major OEM Printer Warranty Certifications area preferred, as well as Major OEM Laptop/Desktop Warranty Certifications, Server Break-Fix Experience. CompTIA Server + and CompTIA Network+ experience is also preferred but not required. We are currently accepting contract applications for the position of Computer Service Technician. MINIMUM Requirements: (Candidates missing any of these requirements will be automatically rejected.) * CompTIA A+ Certified * Laptop / Desktop Break-Fix Experience * Desk side Support Experience * Reliable Transportation ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: • Must have sufficient color vision to identify colors according to Western Electric Standard Color Codes for Paired Cables specifications, which primarily include: red, blue, yellow, orange, green, purple, black, white, brown and gray. • Must have mental and visual ability to read complex materials such as, reports, instructions and manuals. • Basic understanding of Microsoft Windows environment. • Computer programming experience is desirable. • Must have good verbal and written communication skills. • Physical ability required to be mobile, bend, stoop, twist, squat, kneel, sit, stand, reach, carry, climb, and occasionally lift and push objects that weigh at least 20 pounds. • Must possess thorough knowledge of the standard tools, materials, methods, practices, safety precautions and occupational hazards of the trade. • Must have the ability to work with little supervision. • Adequate understanding of the software and hardware used in the installation and configuration of micro-computers and mainframe terminals. • Must have a valid driver's license and be able to operate a motor vehicle. • Must be able to operate hand tools. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: - Identify, diagnose and document hardware failure or software problems on a variety of computer or computer-related equipment. - Provide complete and accurate information for estimate approval and customer unit repair. - Complete assigned work orders (diagnostics, upgrades or builds) within established timeframes. - Understand and utilize technical manuals and support resources. - Achieve average work order sales and productivity standards. - Adhere to current policies and procedures. - Complete all service system transactions accurately. - Keep up-to-date on retail products, current technologies and service certifications required by ASC and other partners. - Recommend components/configurations and assemble customized computer systems. - Maintain a clean and organized work area. - Perform other duties and tasks as needed or requested WORK ENVIRONMENT: • Work involves deadlines and multiple priorities. • Work takes place in all areas of property, including closed closets, above ceiling tiles, behind large machinery, near electronic equipment. • In homes, small offices home offices (SOHO), and other types of offices. EDUCATION • High School diploma or equivalent with CompTIA A+ certification. |
